Mitered

Rather than work on any of the dozen projects I currently have in the works, what did I do last night? Tried to figure out mitered squares by myself.

I started off by casting on 40 stitches. Working in garter stitch, on the next row, I did k19, k2tog, k19. On the following row, I did k19, k2tog, k 18. I kept going this way, knitting one less stitch before the k2tog on every row until I had only 2 stitches left. I then k2tog those two stitches and pulled the yarn through. It looks ok to me, and I started on a larger square as well.

But today, as I was researching, I see that most people use different versions. When I have time, I'm going to play around with these different versions, and see if there is any benefit of one over another.
